Quality Manager

WE ARE SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED QUALITY MANAGER to manage, organize and coordinate the activities of the quality resource area with the goal of maximizing company profitability by providing products/services that meet customer expectations at the lowest cost.  Devise and implement quality systems/procedures that provide continuous improvement methodology supporting manufacturing, support groups and ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.

  • Provide direction and leadership to the Quality group including people management as follows:  managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues; hiring; assisting people with career development; fostering open communication; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishing goals/objectives; administrative processing; and, maintaining trust and confidentiality while fostering a team environment
  • Serve as the Management Representative, whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the facility meets internal policies and requirements, customer requirements, and facility specific quality systems
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer service and other functional areas
  • Provide technical support and coordinate quality related issues on new and existing projects
  • Oversee external customer audits
  • Coordinate internal quality system audits and track actions needed and taken.
  • Work with management to establish quality goals and objectives
  • Devise and implement quality systems/procedures that provide continuous improvement methodology supporting manufacturing and operational consistency
  • Ensure compliance with ISO quality system requirements

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading people
  • Bachelor degree in quality, business, engineering, or other related technical field;       
  • OR Equivalent mix of education and work experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a quality related field
  • Automotive Experience a plus
  • Experience establishing systems and procedures
  • Experience working with General Quality Agreements, General Quality Requirements and standards, as set by customers
  • Acknowledgment and understanding of TS and ISO certification standards
  • Must have working knowledge TS16949, AIAG Core Tools and automotive standards
  • Working Knowledge and Understanding of VDA 6.3 certification criteria and standards

  • Leadership skills including ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Decision making and prioritization skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of quality tools, such as SPC, design of experiment (DOE), root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of inspection equipment and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints and have an understanding of geometric tolerances
  • Ability to travel between facilities and to customer locations
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization, as well as customers and vendors
  • PC skills to include work processing, spreadsheets and database programs
  • Demonstrated team leading, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
